Jose is a Spanish civil servant in a regional public administration in the southeast of his country. He currently works for the department of trade, industry and free competition, though he has held several positions in other sectors, like public works, labour, culture and health.

He has a BA in Economics and a Degree in Business. He speaks English and French, apart from his mother tongue, Spanish, and he understands Italian. He has started a basic course in German and he is also learning to read Cyrillic characters in Russian, because he loves languages.

He is very interested in the issues related to the financial crisis and in trying to contribute in some way to overcome it. He likes to analyse the international press to watch the outlook of each country, inside and outside EU, in order to find points of consensus and mutual understanding.
